Man arrested over alleged 2000 rape of senior citizen
A Phitsanulok man was arrested in Lop Buri on Tuesday for the alleged rape 18 years ago of a woman who was 72 years old at the time.
Pol Col Wichai Todejnitikul, commander of Krong Phikrai police station in Kamphaeng Phet’s Pran Kratai district, where the alleged rape took place, arrested Somdej Kularbsri, 48, at a house in Lop Buri’s Tha Luang district.
Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Court issued the arrest warrant on January 30, 2003.
Wichai said the alleged rape took place at the woman’s house in Tambon Krong Phikrai in February 2000, when the suspect was 30.
Police only recently learned that the suspect was living in Lop Buri.
It was not immediately clear whether the alleged victim was still alive.
