Banks’ new loans seen growing with economy
Growth in new loans at commercial banks this year will be in line with the country’s economic expansion, according to research by the Kasikorn Research Centre.
The net loans of commercial banks in Thailand totalled Bt11.06 trillion at the end of 2017, up 4.3 per cent from 2016. This increase was thanks to strong demand for new loans from the public and private sectors in the last quarter of last year, the research centre said.
