29 gamblers rounded up in Trang temple
Police detained 29 gamblers inside a temple in Trang's Muang district late Wednesday night.
The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) led 30 officers and police from Huay Yod Police Station to raid Wat Klong Kui in Moo 5 village in Tambon Pakchaem after receiving a tip-off that a large group of local residents were gambling there.
Pol Colonel Sompong Suwanwong, commander of the CSD Sub-division 6, said many gamblers managed to flee into the forest behind the temple.
The 29 were arrested while allegedly betting on a roulette wheel.
