Women’s Day triumph: Airbnb Women hosts earned Bt300 billion in 2017

Airbnb is commemorating International Women’s Day tomorrow (March 8) with a tribute to the global community of women who have benefited financially, professionally and socially as Airbnb hosts.

Women hosts in Thailand earned a combined Bt1.89 billion last year, when their number grew by 32 per cent to 13,160.
Women currently make up 52 per cent of all hosts in Thailand, and their typical income was Bt65,400.
“Last year, we were proud to announce that women made Bt300 billion on Airbnb since the company was founded in 2008,” said Mich Goh, Airbnb policy chief for Southeast Asia.
“In the past year, women have made almost an additional Bt300 billion and represent more than half of the Airbnb community. Clearly, women are a driving force of the Airbnb community, and we are proud to provide the end-to-end travel platform for their entrepreneurial spirit to thrive.”
