Bail set for 14 leaders of 2013 PDRC demonstrations
Fourteen leaders of a series of demonstrations in 2013 that led to the military coup were granted bail of Bt600,000 over treason accusations on Wednesday, with the condition that they do not travel overseas unless permitted by the court.
The accused include anti-Shinawatra activists Anchalee Paireerak and Buddha Isara. The 14 defendants were prosecuted on Tuesday for alleged treason and seven other charges.
The Criminal Court has also scheduled the 14 defendants for an evidence review hearing next Monday – the same day that demonstration leader Suthep Thaugsuban will be prosecuted alongside another eight leaders of the People's Democratic Reform Committee.
