Dog rescued after knife attack in Samut Songkram

A dog ran to a local market in Samut Songkram to seek help after was hacked with a knife, severely injuring it, on Friday.

Police have yet to locate and arrest a man who was seen on security camera footage using a long knife to hack the dog’s back four times.
Footage from a camera at the old bus terminal intersection in Muang district showed an unidentified man attacking the dog before it ran to the Mae Klong Market about 50 metres away.
Vendors called Samut Songkram welfare officers, who came to the scene and took the dog to the Mor Rak Sak animal hospital.
The dog was found to have a 5-centimetre-deep wound and a wide cut that needed about 50 stitches. It had to be put under the close care of a veterinarian.
