Two cops wounded in Bangkok drugs gunfight
Two Bangkok police corporals are in hospital with gunshot wounds after trading fire with a drug suspect early Monday morning.
Monthian Panrokha, 36, is accused of shooting the officers when they raided a rented room in a community on Soi Kanchanapisek 8/1 in Khan Na Yao district at 1.30am.
Suthep Boonyuen, 32, was shot twice in the left arm and Sarawut Nakphan, 30, was shot once at his abdomen. They were taken to Nopparat Hospital.
Police seized a pistol, 5,000 methamphetamine pills and 200 grams of crystal meth.
Monthian said he’d gone to the room to buy drugs from a man he knew only as Toon, who he said fled through the back of the house.
