Recent storms damaged 1,503 homes in 25 provinces: ministry
Summer storms affected 1,503 residential homes in 25 provinces during April 2-8, the Interior Ministry’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) director-general, Chayapol Thitisak reported on Monday.
The storms damaged the homes in 111 tambons of 61 districts under 11 northern, nine northeastern, and four central regions as well as the southern province of Surat Thani.
DDPM provincial branch offices joined with related agencies to survey the damage to kick off claims for compensation from the Finance Ministry and to provide initial aid in the form of relief bags, commodity goods, roof tiles and help with repairing the homes, he said.
