Chillies roasted as fire destroys storage facilities in Pathum Thani
Fire swept through three cold-storage rooms owned by Pathum Thani private firms early Tuesday.
Klong Luang district police and fire-fighters got the call at 2.15am. Ten fire engines responded and crews spent an hour extinguishing the blaze near the Aiyara Bridge in Moo 10, Tambon Klong Song.
SP Inter Fresh Co Ltd, SY Thai and Kingtha Co Ltd kept harvested produce, mainly chillies, in the storage rooms.
Two forklifts were also damaged.
Suriwat Sutho, 50, a security officer working nearby, said he’d heard an explosion from behind the SP storage room before a fire broke out there and spread to adjacent facilities.
The cause has yet to be determined.
