A thunderstorm toppled 14 power poles on two roads in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district on Tuesday morning, resulting in a power outage over a wide area.

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority posted messages on its Twitter account that the power poles on Cha Khun Thaharn and Romklao roads had been brought down by strong winds at 10.45am.

This caused a power outage on and around Romklao, Lat Krabang, Sangkhapracha, Khum Klao, Keha Romklao, Suwinthawong and Ramkhamhaeng roads.

At 2.30pm, the MEA said on its Twitter page that officials were still trying to restore power cables in the area.
