Monks' living quarters in Samut Prakan temple destroyed in fire
A fire broke out living quarters of a temple in Samut Prakan's Muang district early Friday. No one was injured.
The Muang Samut Prakan police station was alerted to the fire at Wat Klang at 5am.
Twelve fire engines took about 30 minutes to control the blaze after it swept through the two-storey building.
Phra Maha Prasert Mahanakho, assistant abbot, said the upper floor of the building was made of teak and the building was about 100 years old.
He said the fire broke out while monks were performing morning prayers in a chapel.
Police have yet to determine the cause of fire.
