A python was captured after killing a pet cat at a house in Angthong’s Muang district Wednesday.

A couple called for help from a local rescue association after they found their black cat had been killed by the 4-metre-long python in the compound of their house in Tambon Pa Ngiew at 8pm.

Officials from the Ang Thong Amateur Radio Association captured the python for release into the wild.

Somjit Insuwan, 55, the house owner, said he has several cats and that he and his wife usually feed the animals in the evening. When the black cat failed to turn up, they searched around the house and found the cat crushed by the python which was preparing to swallow it.
