Thairath wrote on its website that Chatchai Lardlan, a resident of Loei's Phu Rua district, and his family were the winners of the top prize worth Bt10 million in the draw that was made on Thairath TV Wednesday night.
Thairath said a total of 232,938,225 postcards were sent in predicting which country would win the World Cup 2018 and a total of 128,308,355 cards were eligible for the draw having predicted France as the winner. Each postcard cost Bt2.
Chatchai said he bought 500 cards for the competition. He set 300 of them in the name of daughter, Thanyanut Lardlan, 3, and 100 each in his name and his wife's name.
The lucky postcard was among those in his daughter's name.
