NATIONAL MOTHER HONOURED
The three armed forces simultaneously fired 21-gun salutes in honour of the current monarch’s mother Her Majesty Queen Sirikit at noon on Sunday.
Her Majesty turns 86 this year, and her birthday every year is marked nationwide as National Mother’s Day.
The Royal Thai Army paid the salute at the 1st Field Artillery Battalion, King’s Guard, while the Royal Thai Navy fired the salute at the Vichai Prasit Fort and the Royal Thai Air Force staged the ceremony at the Navaminda Kasatriyadhiraj Royal Thai Air Force Academy.
