Owner Ekkasit Amphaiporn and his employees live in a two-storey building behind the factory, which was not affected.
Ekkasit said he heard an explosion and looked out the window to see flames coming from the factory’s power meter and spreading quickly inside the facility via the power cable.
He tried in vain to put out the blaze with an extinguisher.
It was Ekasit who put the value of damage to machinery and stock at Bt10 million.
The factory made mattresses to order for hotels and resorts on the island.
