Ubon Ratchathani woman arrested for fitting fashion braces without dentist's licence
A woman in Ubon Ratchathani was arrested on Wednesday morning for allegedly running a shop that fits fashion braces for customers despite having no formal dentistry training and only finishing grade 9.
Suleewal Foithong, 24, was arrested at her home-cum-shop in Tambon Sangthor in Khuang Nai district.
Police found fashion braces and dentistry tools in the shop.
Suleewal said she learned the technique of fitting braces from the Internet and from watching how it’s done at a dentistry clinic.
She said she advertised her service on Facebook and received 15 to 30 clients a month, charging them between Bt300 and Bt800.
Suleewal was charging with setting up a clinic without permission, running it without permission, performing dentistry without a licence and violating the Consumer Protection Board ban on the sale of fashion braces.
