53 injured as bus plunges into valley after collision

A tour bus collided with a car and fell off a steep cliff in Phetchabun province on Sunday morning, leaving 53 passengers injured, two of them seriously.

Witnesses said the collision took place on Highway 225 in the province’s Wichian Buri district, after which the bus plunged 50 metres into the valley. 

Rescue workers rushed to the scene to help the victims. 

It remains unclear what caused the accident.
