Cambodian stabbed to death after flinging wife’s phone into river

A Cambodian worker was allegedly stabbed to death by his angry wife early on Tuesday after he threw her mobile phone into the Trat River in Trat province, police said.

The victim was identified as Koom Kuan, 47, a fishing crew worker on the Chokchai Nava boat.
Police said the worker was stabbed once on his neck and died at the scene at the Chok Sahkhon fishing pier in Ban Dan Kao village in Tambon Wang Krajae.
Police have launched a manhunt for his wife, Mom Kuan, 40, after checking CCTV footage from a docked boat.
The worker’s friends told police that Koom was drinking with friends while his wife was sitting around. Koom checked his wife’s smartphone and became angry to see her chat log with another man.
Koom threw his wife’s phone into the river. His angry wife reportedly grabbed a knife, stabbed him, threw it into the river and fled the scene.
