Livestock officials and Army troops raided an illegal pig slaughterhouse in Nakhon Pathom early on Thursday.

Sorawit Thanito, director general of the Livestock Development Department, said the raid was carried out at 1am at a house in Tambon Tha Kham in Nakhon Pathom's Samphan district.

The raid was conducted after local residents complained with the department about noises and bad smells.

Sorawit said they seized 1,280 kilograms of pork from the house. The house owner has yet to be arrested to face charges of operating a slaughterhouse without a licence.
