BMW quarterly profit falls 24% on trade, emissions woes
German luxury carmaker BMW on Wednesday posted a steep drop in quarterly profit, blaming the impact of tough new EU emissions tests and "international trade conflicts".
The Munich-based group said net profit between July and September slumped 24 percent year-on-year to 1.4 billion euros ($1.6 billion), falling short of analyst expectations. Revenues were up 4.7 percent to 24.7 billion.
