Flash flooding causes misery for drivers, shopowners and residents
A forest flood triggered by torrential rain made a five-kilometre-long southbound section of Highway Number 41 in Tambon Kron, Sawi district, Chumphon province impassable for small vehicles on Friday morning.
By 8am the 40-cm-high water had already caused traffic to be banked up for three kilometres.
Damrongsak Kaewpichai said his roadside shop and nearby homes suffered flash flooding from 3am and many residents had lost belongings.
