Two insurgents are suspected in a road checkpoint shooting in Songkhla’s Thepa district on Monday morning that left tow civilian defence volunteers injured, police say.

The two suspects on a motorcycle sped through the road checkpoint as they fired at officials staffing. The checkpoint was about 500 metres from the office of the Moo 5 village head in Tambon Tha Muang.

Police said Kosin Kaewmanee and Manit Damdee were injured, and rushed to Thepha Hospital where they were declared safe.
