Probe into cause of fatal fire at Nonthaburi cosmetics factory

Forensic police on Friday searched for the cause of an explosion at a cosmetics factory in Nonthaburi’s Pak Kret district on Thursday that killed three workers.

Two workers, Natthakan Buabang, 25, and Jamorn Onsa, 53, sustained serious burns in the incident and died on Thursday night at Chonpratarn Hospital Pak Kret. One worker - whose name was not yet released - was found dead at the explosion scene.
Natthakan's father Supakrit Buabang, 59, said his son had started working at the factory a month ago. He said Natthakan was a good and kind man who took care of his father and siblings.
When he heard about Natthakan's serious injury in the explosion, Supakrit drove from Kanchanaburi, where he worked, to the hospital. But by the time he arrived he was told his son had died.
He said that the company had informed the family that it would take care of all related expenses.
The explosion and fire took place at Min Tech factory on Soi Phra Mae Karun 29 in tambon Ban Mai.
Following the incident, the Nonthaburi Industry Office ordered the factory temporarily closed. The office initially found that the factory might not have obtained a proper licence to operate.
