Krabi taxi driver fined for not using meter
A taxi driver has been charged after he was found not using his taxi meter at Krabi International Airport on Tuesday.
The Chief of the Krabi Land Transport Office was notified by officers at Krabi airport that a taxi driver was found not to start his taxi meter and had it covered it so passengers could not read it. The driver used a piece of paper to cover the screen.
The Chief of the Krabi Land Transport Office contacted the taxi driver. He admitted he had covered the meter screen. He has been fined Bt1,000 for his “error of judgment”. If the driver is caught repeating the offence, his taxi licence will be suspended.
