Hilltribe man allegedly kills ex-wife, her mother in Chiang Rai

A hilltribe man, who returned home after a 10-year absence to find his ex-wife had remarried, allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife and her mother on Wednesday.

Police said the shooting occurred at the house of Na-ua Jajoo, 38, in Ban Muang Noi village in Tambon Mae Jedi Mai in Chiang Rai's Wiang Pa Pao district.
Na-ua was shot twice in the back and chest with a shotgun. Her mother, Ada Haeni, 63, was shot once on the back.
Police said the killer was Na-ua's ex-husband who police did not name pending his arrest.
Na-ua's relatives told police that the ex-husband left the woman 10 years ago and suddenly came to see her Wednesday night, only to find that she was married to another man six years ago and had a child.
The relatives said the ex-husband became jealous and quarrelled with Na-ua's new husband and Ada before he shot Ada once. Na-ua fled into the toilet room before she was killed.
Police said the attacker ran out of ammunition and fled the scene. Police have launched a manhunt for the ex-husband.
