Four South Korean men were arrested in Pattaya on Tuesday and charged with running an online gambling service from their rented condo unit. Immigration Police raided Room A424 at the Grass condominium on South Pattaya Road in Bang Lamung district and arrested Kim Kang-seon, 41, Park Haek-eun, 35, Kim Young-sun, 38, and Suk Jong-ho, 39.

Three computers, a router, two devices for generating single-use passwords and six memory sticks were seized.

Police claim the men confessed to having used the equipment to run their gambling site.

Immigration Police chief Pol Lt Gen Surachate Hakparn quoted the suspects as admitting they entered Thailand on tourist visas and rented the room for one month specifically to offer their countrymen an online gambling service.

They reportedly confessed to being paid Bt80,000 for a month’s work by a financier and having processed bets worth a combined Bt2.5 million by the time of their arrest.
