Hundreds of jellyfish wash up on Krabi beach
Hundreds of jellyfish have washed up on a kilometre-long stretch of Laempong Beach in Krabi over the past week.
Most of them, about 15-20 centimetres in diameter and non-poisonous, were found to be dead.
Locals on Tuesday speculated that the jellyfish may have been adversely affected by hotter seawater ahead the start of the rainy season.
Every year, jellyfish wash up just before the monsoon season, but this year they have done so earlier than normal, they said.
