The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) on Thursday issued the regulations on how it will compensate digital TV licence holders who want to return the licences to the watchdog.

The NBTC will hold a meeting with digital TV licence holders on May 7 to explain more on these rules.

Broadcasters will have to decide whether they will return the licences to the NBTC, said the commission's secretary general Takorn Tantasith.

Any broadcasters which want to return the licences to the watchdog have to inform the NBTC by May 10.

The decision is not reversible.
