Two Thais and a Lao were arrested on Sunday in the border province of Mukdahan for allegedly smuggling garlic across the Mekong River.

Sanguan Chaiphan, 47, Lao Khet Kampoumee, 33, and a teenager whose name was withheld were caught while allegedly unloading the garlic at a undocumented warehouse in Ban Napo Yai district, military rangers said.

The elder Thai was charged with smuggling and the Lao with entering the Kingdom illegally.
