All flooded plants are allowed to relocate their machinery and raw materials from flooded premises, said the Board of Investment.
Such items enjoying import duty waiver are normally required not to leave the promoted premises.
Atchaka Sriboonruang, secretary-general of the investment promotion agency, also said that all promoted plants, should they need extra help, can contact the BoI everyday through the following telephone numbers.
- 02-553-8298 (agriculture and light industry)
- 02-553-8294 (machinery and automotive)
- 02-553-8366 (electronics and electrical appliances) and
- 02-553-8167 (chemicals, paper, plastic and utilities).
All affected operators will be waived from import duty, for new machinery to replace the damaged one.
Many companies have contacted for more information on the machinery import duty waiver, Atchaka said.
