Super C Chef aims for 1M cans of fish daily

Super C Chef, one of Thailand's leading fish canners, has vowed to produce a million units a day for domestic supply, although water has started to penetrate Bang Khunthian Road, where its plant is located.

Poj Aramwattananont, president of Sea Value Co, the producer of Super C Chef brand products, said the company would keep on operating until the water level reached 1.5 metres from its current height of 80 centimetres.
The company reallocated production from export to 100-per-cent domestic supply a month ago to ensure adequate local supply. Previously, about 40 per cent of the company’s products were for export.
Poj said maintaining production of 1 million cans of fish per day would ensure that Thai consumers do not face a shortage if operations must be suspended soon.
The firm is appealing for understanding by foreign importers that it has to suspend exports for a while because of the flood crisis in the Kingdom.
Poj said the company’s frozen-seafood production should not be affected by flooding in Greater Bangkok, as ts plants are mainly in the southern provinces.
