Saran Rangkasiri, senior executive vice president of PTT, said after the contract signing with Topship in Guangdong that such cooperation would help PTT achieve its goal to become a regional top brand in Asean within five years. The company now targets to expand its lubricants markets into Laos, Cambodia, Burma, the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Under the cooperation with Topship, PTT would have some lubricants produced in China, under the guidance of its experts.
Such manufacturing cooperation was forged after its lubricants were first available in China in 2010.
China consumed about 8,000 million litres of lubricants in 2011 and since 2002 the demand has expanded by about 12 per cent per annum. PTT Lubricants is now available through over 10,000 retail shops.
