Kosit Suksingha, managing director of TCC Technology, said the corporation would adopt best-practice guidelines, including executive standards to manage and optimise the value of its software assets, software purchases, utilisation and maintenance, and investments as well as to protect and maintain the security and functional efficiency of its information-technology systems. The firm will also adopt the best practices to manage software assets to support all subsidiary companies of TCC, both domestic and overseas. Lyn Boxall, BSA managing director for the Asia-Pacific region, said SAM was important for business. It will help businesses reduce the cost of investment in software by about 30 per cent. It will also help reduce the usage of illegal software.
She said TCC was part of the firm’s business in Thailand and Southeast Asia to promote best corporate practices for software asset management. “I believe that the initiative will serve as another milestone in Thailand’s efforts to promote the use of licensed software among businesses,” Boxall said.
