Bangkok Airways won two awards for the energy projects at its privately operated Sukhothai Airport and Samui Airport. While Sukhothai Airport won the Outstanding Award in Energy Conservation category, Samui Airport was the first runner-up in the Energy Efficient Buildings in Tropical Building category in the Asean Energy Awards 2011 organised by the Asean Centre for Energy (ACE).
Dusit Thani Pattaya was one of the 91 honoured, with outstanding performance in five categories: Alternative Energy, Energy Management and Conservation, Energy Champion, Energy Creation (Renewable or Green Energy) and Effective Support for Energy Conservation. Of all 309 entries from business establishments, the hotel won the Best Energy Management and Conservation award.
"Dusit Thani Pattaya was the only hotel in the entire Kingdom of Thailand to have received this award and for that, we feel truly proud and honoured. Our hotel will continue our endeavours and commitments as an eco-friendly resort that has been awarded the Silver Certificate by EarthCheck. We will not rest on our laurels but instead, do more for our hotel’s green initiatives," said Chatchawal Supachayanont, general manager.
He said the resort’s entire Green Team Committee contributed to making this achievement possible. He said this would be added to the list of accolades that Dusit Thani Pattaya has received for its environmental initiatives and for its excellent energy management.
Central Pattana also won four awards for energy management projects at its CentralWorld, The Office @ CentralWorld, CentralPlaza Chon Buri and CentralPlaza Rama II.
