Zebra-brand maker banks on technology

Satien Stainless Steel Plc, the maker of "Zebra"-branded kitchenware, targets to grow its sale revenue by 5-10 per cent from Bt1.7 billion last year, banking on the strong brand awareness, high technology and customer relations management strategies.

Ekachai Youngvanich, vice-CEO, said that the sale growth target is set in line with increasing demand for kitchenware in Thailand and overseas marekts.
"We're confident that we achieve the target. Revenue in the first quarter expanded by over 14 per cent from the same period last year," he said.
The 46-year company offers a range of over 1,000 products with annual capacity of 7,500 tonnes. For production efficiency, it recently introduced Z-robot at the Rayong plant.
According to Ekachai, the robot has pushed up efficiency by 20 per cent, particularly in the welding works. Z-robot is also used to move heavy materials.
"The robots ensures consistent output and help reduce accidents. This allows us to meet targets in terms of output and quality," Ekachai said.
Aside, it embarks on CRM strategies which include roadshows and privilege card, carrying discounts for cooking classes and its products. A Facebook account is launched this year to connect with potential young customers.
