THAI labour union presses for Chairman's explanation

Thai Airways International's labour union today submitted a petition to Cabinet Secretary Ampon Kittiampon, seeking his explanation over the premature dismissal of the airline's president, Piyasvasti Amranand.
Jamsri Sukchotirat, chairwoman of the airline's union, said that Ampon was out of office and did not come to receive the petition himself.
Accompanied by 60 members, Jamsri said the union sought explanation from Ampon, who is THAI chairman. Jamsri said the reason he gave on May 21 was unclear.
She said that Ampon should elaborate the reason as soon as possible, to demonstrate his leadership.
