Salee Industry expects big revenue boost after installing new machinery

Salee Industry expects its revenue this year to reach Bt1 billion after investing Bt150 million on new machinery for manufacturing plastic parts and product labels.

Salee is a manufacturer of plastic-injection products, plastic-moulding products, design and moulding blocks, blister packs and silkscreen.
Supoj Soontarinka, Salee’s investor relations manager, said yesterday that the company had bought nine new machines for its three subsidiaries – a Bt7-million plastic-moulding machine for Salee Engineering, a Bt2-million vacuum pressure-forming machine, and seven injection-moulding machines at a cost of Bt30 million for Salee Industry.
He said that by the end of this year, the company would build a new factory at Salee Industry’s facility, at a cost of Bt50 million. The new plant is expected to start commercial operation next year.
In addition, another subsidiary, Pago Salee Printing (PSP), will buy new machines costing up to Bt100 million to replace existing machinery.
“We are planning to expand PSP’s business to Indonesia and Vietnam to serve growing demand for printing, and the upcoming Asean Economic Community in 2015,” he said.
Salee Industry posted consolidated net profit of Bt45.14 million in the first quarter, up 148 per cent from Bt18.18 million from the same period in 2011.
Revenue in the first quarter rose by 34 per cent to Bt239 million, affected by delivery disruption during the severe floods in the final quarter of last year.
Supoj said the company expected its second-quarter net profit to continue growing.
For the full year, Salee expects to see a 30-per-cent increase in revenue to Bt1 billion.
