Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyaphirom said yesterday that Thailand was doing better than some Asian traders, with exports in the first seven months up by 2.2 per cent to Bt4.7 trillion.
Exports were down 1.77 per cent in India, 5.80 per cent in Taiwan and 0.84 per cent in South Korea.

PTTEP Oman project gears up

PTTEP Oman Co is ready to ramp up crude-oil production, which will boost the Oman 44 Project’s overall production of crude oil and condensate from 1,500 barrels per day to about 5,000bpd next month, Tevin Vongvanich, president and chief executive officer of PTT Exploration and Production Plc, said yesterday.
The increase is the result of a successful drilling campaign of seven development and appraisal wells since last year.
Crude-oil production of about 2,500bpd from the Munhamir field will start this month.
A crude-oil discovery at Shams-E South will add 1,000bpd next month.
These two successes will also take natural-gas production to about 50 million standard cubic feet per day. – The Nation
