P&G conducts global 'My World' survey

Procter & Gamble (P&G) Thailand, together with senior representatives of the United Nations, have launched the global "My World" survey that aims to understand the development priorities of people around the world.

The event was conducted at P&G Thailand’s manufacturing plant at Wellgrow Industrial Estate and was attended by Etienne Clement, deputy director of Unesco Asia Pacific; Monir Islam, WHO representative to Thailand; Gwang-Jo Kim, director of Unesco, Bangkok; Raul Falcon, managing director of P&G Thailand and Lelwyn Dsouza, plant manager of P&G’s Bangkok Plant.

"My World global survey aims to capture the voices of people around the world – their concerns, fears and priorities, so |that global leaders can be informed," said Clement.

The survey being conducted, both online and offline, asks the public to select six of 16 possible issues that would make the most difference in their lives, ranging from poverty eradication and education, to gender equality and the environment.

Falcon said the survey was a historic undertaking. "This initiative from the United Nations raises to a new level the way in which a large global organisation can stay connected with the everyday, individual needs of billions of people around the world."

Dsouza added that it was P&G’s desire to improve the lives of people that prompted it to join the UN’s My World programme. "We invite everyone to go online, now to pg.myworld2015.org and provide their own input into the world’s development agenda by participating in the short survey, and to become a part of a global movement," he said.
