The compound on Ratchadaphisek Road will become a landmark and a capital market business centre for investors, equivalent to international financial centres abroad, SET chairman Sompol Kiatphaibool said.
The concept was in line with the Capital Market Development Plan, he said.
SET president Charamporn Jotikasthira said the 29-storey building on a 5.3-rai plot will be a model of environmental protection, following the concept of a green office.
It is expected to receive gold-level Leed certification by the US Green Building Council, indicating social responsibility in terms of energy-saving, protection against pollution and environmental friendliness through the use of international-standard technology.
SET’s new head office will be a centre for securities trading and have full facilities to provide one-stop services for capital market-related activities.
It will also serve as a learning centre for financial and investment planning for students at all levels and the general public.
