AirAsia to fly southern soldiers' mums to Deep South

AirAsia joins Army to surprise Southern border troops AirAsia joins with the Royal Thai Army to organise a very special Mother's Day activity; "Flying Mothers to the South's Brave Soldiers".

The airline is flying 9 mothers with sons on the frontlines of the southern border provinces to surprise and bring them morale as well as provide the sons the chance to pay respects to their mothers in traditional Thai fashion.
Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, remarked that Mother’s Day is considered one of the most important holidays by AirAsia.  The airline takes care to grandly celebrate the event every year in the belief that families are the bedrock of a prosperous society.  AirAsia believes in giving sons and daughters the opportunity to express their appreciation towards the mothers that gave them birth and cared for them through life.  Some sons and daughters however, may find themselves bound to their duties during the occasion, especially the brave soldiers protecting the lives of Thai people in the nation’s south during the long weekend.
“We salute the sacrifice of our soldiers as they put their duties before all else, but as so we have joined with the Royal Thai Army to organise the ‘Flying Mothers to the South’s Brave Soldiers’ campaign.  The army selected 9 of its personnel from special units in Pattani province and tasked AirAsia with transporting their mothers from various provinces to Hat Yai district of Songkhla province so that the privates could share their appreciation and feel a jolt of morale delivered direct from their homes” Tassapon said.
