Lenovo unveils three new tablets for all segments

Lenovo has announced three new tablet computers to cover the entry through premium markets. The company expects to ship around 200,000 units in the first quarter of next year.

Jeerawut Wongpimonporn, country manager of Lenovo (Thailand), said the three new tablets were the Lenovo A1000, A3000 and A6000.
The Lenovo A1000 has a 7-inch display, and runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1 on a 1.2-gigahertz dual-core processor.
It is designed for entry-level users and first-time buyers. The price is Bt3,900.
Meanwhile, the A3000 comes with dual SIM and a 7-inch display and will be available at Bt6,900.
The A6000 is a premium tablet that will available next month, with a 10.1-inch display and priced at Bt9,900.
“I think the tablet market in Thailand has high potential, and there is a good opportunity for newcomers to enter the market. The firm plans to come out with three new tablets that will run on Windows OS,” Jeerawut said.
The company will market its products via four distributors: SIS Distribution (Thailand), Synnex (Thailand), The Value Systems and Ingram Micro. It will also set up a team to create new market segments.
He said the tablet market in Thailand this year was expected to move 4 million units, including those under the government’s “One Tablet per Child” project. Lenovo expects that it will able to sell about 200,000 units in the first quarter of next year and gain a top-five position in the market within one year.
