Marketing legend Charlie dies

Marketing legend Charlie Jitcharoongphorn passed away peacefully on Tuesday at the age of 62 after battling cancer.

The funeral rites started Wednesday and are being held until Tuesday, November 12 at Sala 11, Wat That Thong, from 7pm. The cremation ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November  13 , 2013 at the cremation site in front of Sala Osathanugrah from 2pm to 6pm. 
Charlie was born on December 26, 1950. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in the United States. 
Charlie started his professional career as a sales supervisor at Kodak (Thailand) in 1973. He joined Johnson & Johnson in 1976 as product manager. Charlie shifted his career to the beverage industry in 1982, joining Pepsi-Cola Thai Trading as marketing director. In 1992, Charlie joined Remy (Thailand) as general manager, before returning to Pepsi-Cola Thai Trading in 1997 in the same marketing director position.
In 2008, Charlie joined Thai Beverage Marketing as deputy managing director. He served as vice chairman of Dhospaak between 2011 and 2013.
