Dongfeng launches minor-change Saver

After selling more than 1,000 vehicles in the past five years, Chinese automaker DFSK (Dongfeng Motors) is hoping to make inroads into the low-budget vehicle market with its Saver truck, priced at Bt308,000.

The company has a special hire-purchase programme at the ongoing Fast Auto Show, offering a low down payment of 10 per cent and monthly instalments of Bt3,000. Free insurance is also being offered.
DFSK Thailand managing director Pitaya Tanadamrongsak said the Saver is a minor-change model and has been upgraded from the previous K01 mini truck. “Its main feature is its economical price and low fuel consumption. Like every DFSK model, the Saver features an LPG system from Lovato, the world’s leading Italian gas-kit maker, so it can run on both petrol and LPG,” he said.
The Saver is equipped with a new engine with a displacement of 1,100cc, developing 63hp and 91Nm. The cargo area is 2.3 metres long and 1.5 metres wide, and can be opened on all three sides, allowing it to be used as a vending truck for small business owners.
