Regional central bankers' meeting concluded

East Asia-Pacific central bankers welcomed the economy recovery in advanced economies, but remained alert on risks.

According to the statement released today after the central bank governors' meeting in Bangkok, they took note of the risks that will pose an important challenge for central banks' future policies.
"Meanwhile, the current period of seemingly low inflation also calls for policymakers to re-visit the underlying components of inflation dynamics and the implications its recent development has for monetary policy," the statement said.
The 19th Executive’s Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks (EMEAP)1 Governors was held in Bangkok and chaired by Bank of Thailand governor Prasarn Trairatvorakul.
The 20th meeting will be held in Singapore in 2015.
