The new hotel, Novotel Phuket Karon Beach, is slated to open on October 15.
The newly built 224-room resort is located by the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea.
“Phuket continues to be the destination of choice for many regional and international tourists,” said Fraser Ross, the hotel’s general manager.

Supawan Tanomkieatipume, vice president for marketing at the Thai Hotels Association, said that while hotels in Bangkok were worrying over only a slight increase in new bookings for the upcoming high season, hotels in major tourist destinations like Phuket, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui were happy.
“The tourism and hotel business in Phuket can be expanded a lot more in the long term because tourists are now able to fly in directly from China, Korea, Hong Kong the Middle East and Europe,” Supawan said.
She added that many business and private organisations held meetings and conferences in Phuket and nearby provinces.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand recently went to Belgium to promote the Kingdom in a bid to attract more tourists in the last three months of this year and early 2015.
Belgium sent 59,074 visitors to Thailand between January and August, up 3 per cent on the same period of 2013.
It was one of a number of European countries from which arrivals grew.
