Lazada opens new warehouse amid increase in online sales

Lazada is opening a new warehouse in Bang Plee to meet the needs of the online shopping network's rapidly growing business.

The 17,000-square-metre warehouse is part of a wider operation to expand its logistics infrastructure, which comprises 10 facilities in Southeast Asia.

The new warehouse is situated in TPark Bang Plee 3, and its 60-per-cent expansion comes just a year after it was moved to its current location. Lazada Express and its six international and local third-party logistics providers ensure fast and reliable delivery to customers all over the country and across the region.

"In just three years in Thailand, we have grown rapidly, thanks to the support of our customers who appreciate our offerings – a wide assortment of local, international and exclusive products, secure payment options including cash-on-delivery and fast and reliable delivery," said Bertrand Peyrat, chief operating officer in Thailand.

"The expansion of our warehouse in Bang Plee marks a step forward in strengthening our business to provide the best-in-class online experience to Lazada Thailand customers," he said.

The new warehouse can store up to 500,000 items from tiny needles to large refrigerators. Orders can be processed in the warehouse with enhanced mobile picking technology.

The warehouse uses a proprietary "technology stack" that helps provide end-to-end order coverage by connecting all parties in order fulfilment. The system is fully automated to provide greater efficiency, productivity and accuracy. Lazada’s customer service platform helps the company stay on top of deliveries, proactively reach out to customers to share order updates and collect valuable feedback in real time.
