Pracharath TV turned down

The broadcasting committee of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has suggested to the Prime Minister’s Office that there are other media that should be used to communicate and promote Pracha Rath grass-roots economic policies to the people, instead of acquiring a digital-TV licence for public purpose.
Pakdee Manaves, deputy secretary-general of the NBTC, said yesterday that the committee had agreed to suggest that the government use its existing public television channels such as NBT and Thai Parliament TV or coordinate with commercial free-to-air TV stations to help support its public relations blitzes.
The NBTC had received an inquiry from the Prime Minister’s Office on the possibility of using a national frequency to broadcast TV programmes related to its key policies. The new free-to-air station would be run as a public broadcasting service.

EXIM Bank backs logistics business
The Export-Import Bank of Thailand has provided a US$3.45-million (Bt121 million) loan to JWD InfoLogistics to support the Thai logistics company’s expansion into the CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam) region, said Pisit Serewiwattana, president of Exim Bank.
With Exim Bank’s financial support, a warehouse project in Vientiane has been set up and commenced commercial operations in January. Its services consist of depository and management of imported, temperature-controlled chilled and frozen goods that need to be kept at low temperatures before distribution to restaurants or food retailers for domestic consumption, such as pre-processed fresh food, fruits, fruit juice, fresh vegetable, ice cream and cheese.
A similar project in Phnom Penh is under construction and is expected to be completed by August, targeting franchised restaurants with numerous branches all over the country.
“Exim Thailand aims to help promote logistics-business expansion in CLMV, which will serve as a foundation for development of Thailand’s logistics network with neighbouring countries and other countries in the region, increasing foreign-exchange earnings while enhancing social well-being and overall economic growth in the AEC and beyond,” he said.
