LEASING UNIT TO GET 30% OF AIRBUS ORDER

Asia Aviation Capital stands poised to benefit from parent company AirAsia’s recent deal for 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft, with 30 per cent of the order expected to be allocated to the wholly owned leasing unit.
The aircraft order, valued at US$12.6 billion (Bt441 billion) based on list prices, was revealed at the Farnborough Airshow last week.
It is AirAsia’s first order for the largest model in the best-selling A320 family, which can seat up to 240 passengers in a single-class layout, said Rozman Omar, principal officer of Asia Aviation Capital.
Asia Aviation Capital owns or finances a fleet of more than 55 Airbus A320 commercial aircraft, primarily leased to AirAsia affiliates outside Malaysia.
The unit is expected to receive 100 more A320 aircraft, which will bring its A320 fleet to 155.
