BOT to cooperate with India’s central bank

The Bank of Thailand on Monday signed an agreement to exchange banking supervision information with the Reserve Bank of India, the regulator of financial institutions in that country.
The agreement provides a formal basis for banking supervisory cooperation between the two authorities.
 They will share information and communication from the licensing process to bank supervision.

Thai products on display in S Korea

The Department of International Trade Promotion’s Commercial Affairs Office in South Korea has partnered with that country’s second-largest hypermarket chain Homeplus to promote Thai farm and seafood products.
Products such as baby octopus, mangoes and frozen shrimp are being displayed at 142 Homepluses across South Korea this month.
Trade between Thailand and South Korea rose by 1.5 per cent to US$11.32 billion (Bt393.5 billion) last year, of which $4.04 billion was for Thai exports to South Korea and $7.27 billion was for imports to Thailand.

Haier targets 10% sales growth 

Haier Thailand is targeting 10-per-cent revenue growth to Bt2.7 billion this year from Bt2.48 billion in 2016.
Company president Yang Xiaolin said Haier had invested more than Bt100 million to develop its stores and marketing activities. 
This summer, besides economy models, new high-end products will also be available.

Airbus A380 on Frankfurt route 

Starting on October 29, Lufthansa Group will operate daily an Airbus A380 between Bangkok and Frankfurt, replacing the Boeing 747-400, for the winter timetable. 
This change of aircraft will increase capacity by 35 per cent from October to March 2018 on this route.
“Our customers will be thrilled to travel with us on the Airbus A380. 
It is comfortable, spacious and quiet, which makes it perfect for long-haul flights like services between Bangkok and Frankfurt,” said Dirk Grossmann, Lufthansa general manager of passenger sales in Thailand and the Mekong region.
